Week in review

ESPN has paid tribute to America’s veterans all week, on and off the air.

Today on Veterans Day, more than 50 employees participated in an hour-long, midday “Boot Camp” in a salute to the nation’s military.

We’ll have more on this exhausting exercise in a Sunday Front Row post.

Even though we’re publishing the Week In Review now, stayed tuned to the blog as we’ll provide a look at tonight’s Carrier Classic basketball game in pictures beginning shortly before 5 p.m. ET.

It’s been an eventful week on Front Row. Let’s review:

*Boxing lost a legend in Smokin’ Joe Frazier.

* The Iron Bowl in Alabama splits the state in half. ESPN Films captured all of that passion and pageantry between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn Tigers with the presentation of Roll Tide/War Eagle.

* ESPN anchor Jay Harris shared some of his favorite “This is SportsCenter” commercials with us. Which is your favorite?

* On SportsCenter, an emotional moment for former Penn State linebacker and current ESPN analyst Matt Millen as he discussed the scandal surrounding his alma mater.

* What might a typical day be like on a US aircraft carrier be like? ESPN Producer Sharon Kum chronicled 24 hours on The USS Carl Vinson, the site of the historic North Carolina vs. Michigan State men’s basketball game tonight (7 p.m. ET, ESPN).
