ESPN analyst Barry Larkin elected to Baseball Hall Of Fame class of 2012

Congratulations to Baseball Tonight analyst Barry Larkin, who has been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame class of 2012.

Larkin, who joined ESPN last year, expressed his delight over today’s news during a SportsCenter interview.

“I was absolutely floored when they told me I was the newest member of the Hall of Fame,” Larkin said live on the 3 p.m. SportsCenter on ESPNEWS. “I’m really having a tough time trying to wrap my words around my true feelings.”

Larkin joins several ESPN colleagues elected to the Hall of Fame for their respective professional sport including:

Basketball: Hubie Brown, Magic Johnson, Chris Mullin and Dr. Jack Ramsay
Football: Mike Ditka, Jerry Rice and Steve Young
Golf: Judy Rankin and Curtis Strange
Horse Racing: Jerry Bailey
Tennis: Chris Evert and John McEnroe
