Stanford Forward Nneka Ogwumike is the projected No. 1 pick in the 2012 WNBA Draft.

In a WNBA draft class filled with, questions one player seems poised to be a star: Stanford small forward Nneka Ogwumike. After four years with the program and four trips to the Final Four Ogwumike likely will be taken with the first pick in the 2012 WNBA Draft.

The 2012 WNBA Draft presented by Boost Mobile will be held Monday, April 16 at ESPN’s Bristol campus. ESPN2 will provide coverage and analysis of the first round beginning at 2 p.m. ET. The entire three-round, 36-pick draft will be simulcast on ESPN3.

Let’s review the week on Front Row:

• ESPN NFL analyst and three-time Super Bowl champion Tedy Bruschi and 40 other runners from his foundation, Tedy’s Team, will run the Boston Marathon on Monday. Front Row spoke with Bruschi this week about his first marathon and the motivation behind it.

• ESPN debuted its 2012 NFL Draft promotional campaign with a spot titled NFL Draft, Big City. The song Bright Lights, Bigger City by singer-songwriter Cee Lo Green, combine to capture the essence of the Draft on ESPN.

• It was announced this week that Lisa Salters has been named the new sideline reporter for ESPN’s Monday Night Football. No stranger to ESPN viewers, Salters is one of the lead reporters for ESPN on ABC’s NBA coverage, as well as a featured correspondent on the ESPN news magazine, E:60.

• With Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen holding a news conference to apologize for his recent comments in Time magazine, where he expressed admiration for Cuban leader Fidel Castro, ESPN enlisted the help of ESPN Deportes personality Jose Hernandez. He talked about the challenge of translating Guillen’s opening statements, made in Spanish, in real time on SportsCenter.

• Why do ESPN’s pit reporters wear fire suits? Years ago, Dr. Jerry Punch, one of ESPN’s pit reporters, recalls a close call during a race being televised by ABC. Punch sprung into action, and the rest is history.
