Week in review

The NBA started to announce its award winners for the season this week.

Named thus far have been Coach of the Year (Gregg Popovich), Defensive Player of the Year (Tyson Chandler) and Most Improved Player of the Year (Ryan Anderson).

Our Jemele Hill disagreed in particular with the selection of Popovich being named coach of the year. In the video above she shares her thoughts. According to Jemele, the real coach of the year was Tom Thibodeau.

Do you agree with Jemele? Or did the NBA get it right?

Let us know in the comments section below.

Until then, let’s review our week on Front Row:

• The sports world was shocked Wednesday afternoon as news of Junior Seau’s apparent suicide spread through the media. We compiled ESPN reactions from Twitter and other social media platforms.

• Major League Baseball Insider Buster Olney, senior writer for ESPN The Magazine and ESPN.com and analyst for Baseball Tonight, got former Boston Red Sox pitcher Dennis “Oil Can” Boyd to discuss his 10-year career in the majors.

SportsCenter anchor Sara Walsh joined ESPN in May 2010 as an anchor for ESPNEWS. Front Row caught up with the former University of North Florida soccer star earlier this week to talk about Twitter and her alma mater.

• On Monday night in Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, the 33rd annual Sports Emmy awards were announced. Our Tom Rinaldi discusses the acknowledgments as well as what makes great storytelling.
