SNL‘s Pharoah after mimicking Stephen A. Smith on First Take

You know you’ve made it when you are being impersonated on Saturday Night Live.

Last month in a web-only Weekend Update segment, SNL comic Jay Pharoah parodied ESPN First Take commentator Stephen A. Smith.

Pharoah’s spot-on impersonation became a Web sensation.

On Tuesday, Pharoah visited our Bristol, Conn., campus and the First Take set for segments with Smith, Skip Bayless and Jay Crawford.

Pharoah had more fun at Smith’s expense — though it should be noted Smith took it all in stride.

After the show, Pharaoh joined Front Row on our campus basketball court to discuss his ESPN experience.

While he was as entertaining as advertised, don’t let the backdrop fool you. Don’t worry, Pharaoh won’t be leaving comedy for the NBA anytime soon.
