Today, ESPN announced a multi-year extension for Ryen Russillo and officially re-named the show he co-hosts with Scott Van Pelt to SVP & Russillo.

Russillo, a West Tisbury, Mass. native and a 1997 University of Vermont graduate, has distinguished himself as an authoritative voice on all sports with keen insight into the NBA and college football. (He hosts ESPN Radio’s weekly remote College GameDay show from noon to 7 p.m. ET Saturdays throughout the college football season).

A consistent presence on Twitter, here’s some of Russillo’s vital stats and thoughts about the medium:

Twitter handle: @RyenRussillo

When did you join Twitter and why?
A few years ago, I thought it would be a fun way to interact with listeners and promote some of the stuff we have been doing on the show.

If you could add any one person as a Twitter follower, who would it be?
That’s easy, Zac Efron.

Who is your favorite person to follow on Twitter?
Anyone that isn’t a pro athlete. They are generally boring.

Who is the most interesting person who follows you on Twitter?
There are a few rappers that I grew up listening to; it still kind of shocks me when that happens.

You seem to change your avatar quite a bit — why and what’s been your favorite?
If I see something funny, I just like to share it. My favorite one was of SVP at a modeling shoot. The lighting was a little off that day, so he didn’t look as good as he normally does.
