Editor’s note: I Follow is all about ESPN employees on Twitter: what they tweet, whom they follow and how you can interact socially with anyone and everyone.

Today we visit with Alfredo Lomeli, one of the hosts of ESPN Deportes’ new show #Redes (8 p.m. ET, Monday-Friday). Lomeli, who joined ESPN three months ago, is also covering X Games Foz Do Iguaçu, which starts this Thursday (see full schedule), for ESPN Deportes and ESPN International. When did you first start using Twitter and why?
I opened my Twitter account about two years ago but didn’t start using it regularly until three months ago. I realized it was a great way to establish and maintain contacts.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter and why?
I don’t have any favorite people per se, but my favorite accounts to follow are ESPN Stats & Info (@ESPNStatsInfo), The Associated Press (@AP) and Google Facts (@GoogleFacts) because I like to stay updated on important events and interesting news from around the globe. (Editor’s Note: You can read more about ESPN Stats & Info nearing 500,000 followers.)

What has been your favorite Twitter moment so far?
[Actress] Eva Longoria @EvaLongoria retweeted me a few months ago. I interviewed her in Austin, Texas, and when I tweeted about it she responded almost immediately.

How has Twitter changed your job?
I am the voice of social media on #Redes due to my knowledge of the medium and my successful use of Facebook to promote myself and previous companies I’ve worked for. Now I see that having a strong presence on Twitter not only is essential, but it’s quite fun.I love interacting with the show’s fans and engaging in conversations that drive the content of our show.

What should your followers expect from your Twitter feed during X Games Foz Do Iguaçu?
I will be tweeting all the time from Foz. My followers can expect cool pictures and videos and the full X Games experience via Twitter.
