ESPN play-by-play man Carter Blackburn’s broadcasting career has brought him to sporting venues in 46 of the 50 states. With a multi-sport background – including college football and basketball – it’s somewhat odd to learn Sunday’s ACC meeting of Clemson at No. 1-ranked Syracuse (ESPNU, WatchESPN, 6 p.m. ET) will be SU alum Blackburn’s first time calling a hoops contest from the Carrier Dome.

Here’s Blackburn discussing his return to the land of the “Lake Effect” with Front Row:

Blackburn, who lives in Austin, Texas, handles ACC weekend games, sharing the table with analyst Sean Farnham on Saturdays and teaming with analyst Jay Williams and sideline reporter Allison Williams for the Sunday Night ACC package. Sunday’s game will afford Blackburn the opportunity to share some of his deep knowledge of the Orange program he picked up during his days at SU (a 2001 graduate).

Here, Blackburn shares the story of how close Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim was to coaching at another New York school.

And lastly, Blackburn has developed some impersonations over the years and Front Row couldn’t let him go without hearing one. He does not disappoint with this byte in the voice of former Texas coach, Mack Brown:
