Bill Simmons, Dale Earnhardt Jr., ABC’s Ginger Zee and others offer #BracketTips

Love to fill out a bracket, yet with so many decisions, so many teams and so many possibilities you don’t know where to start? With you in mind ESPNU producer Baron Miller came up with the concept of #BracketTips last year.

“This time of year, brackets are the hottest water cooler subject and everyone has a different philosophy on how to win their office pool,” said Miller, who again headed up the project this year. “I thought it would great to hear from sports and Hollywood personalities about how each of them fills out their bracket. Everyone has a philosophy and that philosophy might work in any given year. It is the beauty of the tournament.”

With the help of ESPN Senior Director of Synergy Joelle Downes and ABC’s Vice President of Marketing Partnerships Victoria Chew, Miller and the ESPN production staff caught up with all types of personalities to film their bracket advice. From movie actors (and one-time SportsCenter guest-anchor) such as Ken Jeong, to two-time Daytona 500 winner Dale Earnhardt Jr., everyone has a take when it comes to March Madness.

“It is always cool to hear about how big college basketball fans these people are,” Miller said. “Most have a favorite team or participate in their own pools.”

Throughout this week, ESPNU has utilized the #BracketTips videos coming in and out of commercial breaks. Additionally, the videos are posted on ESPNU’s YouTube (see sidebar) and Twitter page, or by searching #BracketTips on Twitter.

Remember to fill out your brackets with ESPN Men’s Tournament Challenge presented by Acura and Allstate and ESPN Women’s Tournament Challenge presented by Capital One. You can compete against celebrities like ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel.
