The V Foundation enters Team V in NYC Marathon

Celebrity team captains supporting Team V

Team V runners receive motivational support from a variety of celebrity team captains including ABC’s Live! With Kelly and Michael’s Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan; SportsCenter anchors Lindsay Czarniak, John Anderson (he also is co-hosting ESPN’s race coverage) and David Lloyd; espnW columnist and on-air host Sarah Spain; co-host of Numbers Never Lie Jemele Hill; host of NFL Live Trey Wingo; ESPN soccer analyst Julie Foudy and cancer survivor and New York Giants linebacker Mark Herzlich.

Joslyn Dalton, a manager in ESPN.com Operations, is running in honor of her dad. Maura Shea, an ESPN commercial operations coordinator, is running in remembrance of her mom. These brave women along with ESPN Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Operations, Lori LeBas; Vice President of Digital and Print Media Revenue and Operations, Marc Horine; Brian Mann, director of Multimedia Sales and 35 others will be joining Team V at this weekend’s 2014 TCS New York City Marathon.

Each team member has committed to raising $3,500 for The V Foundation for Cancer Research, and they’re well on their way to meeting that goal. In fact, LeBas already has exceeded that amount by raising $15,000. Meet some of the team members in the video above.

The marathon will air on Sunday, Nov. 2. (9 a.m. ET, ESPN2/WatchESPN/ESPNDeportes+). SportsCenter anchors John Anderson (one of Team V’s celebrity captains, see sidebar) and Hannah Storm again will co-host race day coverage, with Anderson providing commentary from the booth and Storm at the start and finish lines.
