Making College Football Playoff: Top 25 program is a unique, challenging task

Tonight, once again, the airwaves will be flooded with polls, voting and informed analysis. Mid-term elections? Nope. College football.

Last Tuesday, when ESPN revealed the first-ever College Football Playoff Rankings, it marked the culmination of months of work and anticipation for the ESPN team charged with documenting the news.

With that milestone reached, the second episode of the College Football Playoff: Top 25 Presented by Capital One airs tonight (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN) and each of the ensuing Tuesday nights through the regular season’s culmination and Sunday, Dec. 7’s College Football Playoff Selection Show (12:45 p.m., ESPN). Host Rece Davis and analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Danny Kanell and David Pollack form the weekly show’s nucleus.

In the video above, Front Row spoke with Producer Nick Sciallo, Kanell and Pollack about the work that goes into producing the 30-minute show, their thoughts on the job ahead for the Selection Committee and their excitement in being part of the process.
