“Every Town is a Sports Town,” a memoir and leadership book by long-time ESPN President George Bodenheimer, hit stores this week and brought George back to Bristol, a town he helped build as one of America’s biggest sports towns.

Unlike other celebrities who visit the ESPN Car Wash to plug a book, today’s guest knew his way around the sprawling campus as he appeared on Mike & Mike, The Herd and SVP and Russillo and shook the hands and shared a moment with scores of his former colleagues. A packed house in the Building 4 conference room also heard George share remembrances from his book, which chronicles ESPN’s 35-year history as the company grew in parallel with George’s career, and offers anecdotes that underline his leadership style.

In addition to his appearances on ESPN outlets, his book tour this week has included stops at Good Morning America, CNBC and Fox News. All of the book’s proceeds go to The V Foundation.
