ESPN Deportes and the City of Doral, Fla.- located near the network’s Miami studios – recently unveiled an art mural in celebration of the 2015 Pan American Games, taking place in Toronto July 10-26 and airing across ESPN platforms. The mural, painted by native Floridian artist David “DaveL” Lavernia, embodies the multiculturalism of Miami residents and serves as a tribute to the 41 nations participating in the 2015 Pan American Games, while also linking the arts with sports and Latin American culture (see video above).

“As a culturally-diverse city, Doral is the perfect location for this Pam American Games 2015 mural. Through opportunities such as this, we continue to support the arts in the community. Thank you to ESPN Deportes, our artist David Lavernia, and all who played a part in bringing this exciting project to our growing city,” said Luigi Boria, Mayor of the City of Doral.

“This quadrennial sports competition is a temple for us,” said General Manager, ESPN Deportes, Lino Garcia. “We are making a team effort to offer our viewers a surround sound of the Pan Am Games and this initiative is an expression of the special focus we are putting on it.”
