Take a guided tour of Mike & Mike’s new home with the hosts

Editor’s Note: For Mike & Mike on ESPN2, January 2016 was the second most-viewed January on record, behind 2011 (299,000 versus 363,000 viewers), and viewership was up 12 percentfrom the same month last year (299,000 versus 268,000 viewers). Mike & Mike – a simulcast of the ESPN Radio morning show with Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic – airs 6-10 a.m. ET weekday mornings on ESPN Radio and ESPN2. ESPN Executive Vice President, Production, Norby Williamson, explains the vision behind the show’s new home.

The evolution of Mike & Mike into its new set environment this week exemplifies where we need to evolve with our brands.

Mike & Mike is distributed across multiple platforms – ESPN2, nationally on ESPN Radio and satellite radio, locally through our radio affiliates and our owned stations, podcasts and digitally. All these distribution mechanisms allow us to reach fans everywhere. That’s the key for Mike & Mike and other brands.

Their new environment allows the content group to create compelling content that impacts reach, time spent viewing and frequency which will continue to increase audience. The goal is to keep listeners and viewers engaged longer.

The ESPN Creative Services team partnered with the Audio and Production groups to unveil a new animation, set and music that presents information seamlessly displayed on the screen. The addition of First Take host Molly Qerim continues our strategy of integrating the talent and content across our ESPN2 programming. The additional mobility in the Mike & Mike studio allows Greenberg and Golic to get up, walk around, welcome guests and work with touch screens and telestrators to better engage audiences listening on ESPN Radio or viewing on ESPN2. This new location affords us many more tools to create and distribute compelling content to serve sports fans everywhere.

In the video above, the Mikes, who have worked together since 2000, give you a look at their new home.
