ESPN Radio to carry Scully’s final call

ESPN Radio will carry the final inning of Vin Scully’s career on Sunday. ESPN Radio will air Scully’s call of the Los Angeles Dodgers at San Francisco Giants game as it starts the ninth inning.

Vin Scully, the legendary voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers, will drop the mic for the final time this weekend, Sunday, Oct. 2.

Scully’s multi-generational impact amongst sports fans and media members alike can’t be overstated.

He has significantly influenced countless ESPN commentators, including baseball and college basketball play-by-play voice Dave O’Brien.

In the tribute video above, O’Brien, who also serves as the Boston Red Sox play-by-play voice for NESN, discusses Scully’s immeasurable talent, his favorite memories and calls, and even does a few impersonations of the legend.

O’Brien is scheduled to call the National League Wild Card Game on ESPN Radio, Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 8 p.m. ET.
