FiveThirtyEight’s Silver shares time – and data – with ESPN colleagues

Live FiveThirtyEight Podcast Tonight In Chicago

After a successful event in New York, tonight the political team from FiveThirtyEight hosts a live podcast event in Chicago’s Athenaeum Theater before a sellout crowd. FiveThirtyEight will host one more of these events before the election on Oct. 24 in New York.

On Sept. 28, Nate Silver – renowned statistician, founder and Editor-in-Chief of ESPN’s FiveThirtyEight – was a guest at ESPN’s most recent, employee-only “Newsmaker Speaker Series” in Bristol, Conn.

During the event, he met with fellow employees and discussed his team’s comprehensive work covering sports, science, culture, economics and most notably, politics.

Following his presentation, Silver sat down with Front Row and discussed FiveThirtyEight’s growth since joining ESPN and its role within the company. Additionally, he provided an inside look at his team’s relentless work covering this year’s tumultuous presidential election, particularly the inaugural presidential debate, which took place two days before his visit.

ABC News Presidential Debate Coverage

ABC will air the second presidential debate of the 2016 campaign live Sunday, Oct. 9, beginning at 9 p.m. ET, from St. Louis, Missouri.

FiveThirtyEight continues to set traffic records across the board. Last month, the site’s election forecast was the most popular piece of individual content across all of ESPN’s web properties. Readers can follow FiveThirtyEight’s Presidential Election coverage – including Sunday’s debate – on the team’s live blog as well as through various in-depth articles and interactive charts and the FiveThirtyEight Elections podcast.

FiveThirtyEight’s podcast crew continues its run of live shows in advance of November’s election. Tonight, Chicago’s
Athenaeum Theater is host to the FiveThirtyEight podcast.
