UConn, FSU, Texas, Stanford coaches eager to begin Tip-Off Marathon

ESPN’s ninth annual College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon, featuring 13 men’s and women’s college basketball games airing on the network’s platforms over two days, begins tonight.

It all starts with a doubleheader featuring premiere women’s programs. At 6 p.m. ET on ESPN2, defending national champion and No. 3 UConn will visit No. 12 Florida State, followed by No. 8 Texas visiting No. 11 Stanford at 8 p.m.

In the video above, the four head coaches participating in the doubleheader discussed what it means to be a part of the marathon coverage. Geno Auriemma (UConn), Sue Semrau (Florida State), Karen Aston (Texas) and Tara VanDerveer (Stanford) all share their thoughts. ESPN coordinating producer Kate Jackson also talks about the prospect of covering a competitive march to The Women’s Final Four in Dallas, Texas, on Friday, March 31 and Sunday, April 2.
