Commissioner Claus ready for Christmas Day NBA feast on ABC and ESPN
With only a few days until Dec. 25 – when ESPN and ABC will air five star-studded NBA games – Santa Claus returned to ESPN as the new NBA commissioner for Christmas Day.
Following last year’s stint as an NBA free agent, Mr. Claus is again the star of ESPN’s marketing campaign for the occasion.
Last week, Santa [portrayed by actor John Rue] stopped by ESPN’s Bristol, Conn., offices to discuss his career change. During his interview with Front Row, he gave viewers a glimpse into his naughty/nice list for this year and where Scott Van Pelt and John Buccigross land.
Currently in its third year, the campaign features more than 12 commercials as well as a 30 for 30 parody film on Santa Claus, all debuting during the most wonderful time of the year, leading up to Dec. 25.
