On Steve Jobs’ impact

Editor’s Note: Not only was Steve Jobs a member of the Disney family as a leader on its board of directors and through his relationship with Pixar, he had a major impact on the way ESPN is able to deliver its content and serve sports fans everywhere. Below, you will find two comments from ESPN executives whose lives intersected with Mr. Jobs. After the jump, we offer some of the tweets from ESPN commentators who were touched by the life and work of Apple’s founder, who died Wednesday at 56.

“Steve Jobs had the charisma, the vision and the leadership that no one else had. I became a fan of Apple when the first Macintosh came out in 1984, and I was fortunate enough to witness the unveiling of the original iPhone years later. The way he harnessed the energy and promise among everyone in the room was amazing. He blew me away! We will miss him.” — Chuck Pagano, Chief Technology Officer, ESPN

“Steve Jobs will always be an inspiration to us.  He and his incredibly talented teams at Apple and Pixar have redefined the consumer experience in ways we could not previously imagine. Although not a sports fan, Steve was generous with his support of our work at ESPN. We are very lucky to have had him in our lives.”
John Kosner, Senior Vice President and General Manager, ESPN Digital and Print Media
