Familiar victory lap: Jimmie Johnson visits Bristol for another Car Wash

Jimmie Johnson is one of two NASCAR drivers to win four Brickyard 400s, so kissing the bricks as the winner traditionally does is a habit he savors.

The same can be said for Johnson’s visits to ESPN’s Bristol, Conn. headquarters. With a stop here Tuesday — less than 48 hours after his latest triumph in Indianapolis — the five-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion estimates he’s made 10 visits to ESPN for one of our “Car Wash” tours.

It’s an invitation he takes gladly because it usually means the guest has “done something good,” he said.

Between visits with Mike & Mike In The Morning, NASCAR Now and SportsCenter, Johnson visited with ESPN NFL analyst Cris Carter (pictured above). Check out more photos from his visit in the Captured On Campus slide show top right.

In a future Front Row post, we’ll have Johnson in a video interview reflecting on — among other things — his numerous ESPN commercials, including how he managed to survive multiple hits to head with a Frisbee and personal time with porcupine.
