In the “Front & Center” podcast above, ESPN announces that Stuart Scott has agreed to a multi-year contract extension with the network. Next month, Scott will celebrate 19 years with ESPN.

In 1993, he joined ESPN to help launch ESPN2 with his signature style and engaging personality. He eventually began a long stint as a SportsCenter anchor and became a versatile host for ESPN programs involving NFL, NBA and other sports.

In the podcast, Scott, who is in Los Angeles this week to participate in The 2012 ESPYS festivities, talks about his tenure at ESPN, his ongoing battle with cancer, how his social media interaction with fans helps him fight the disease and much more.

Tomorrow night, Scott will be seen as a presenter on The 2012 ESPYS Presented by Capital One, with host Rob Riggle.

The event, a staple on the sports calendar since 1993, will feature the world’s premier athletes and some of Hollywood’s biggest stars for a celebration of the best moments from the year in sports. The 2012 ESPYS will be televised live from the Nokia Theatre at L.A. LIVE on Wednesday, July 11, at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.
