ESPN International’s Fuera de Juego celebrates 10 years on the air
Fuera de Juego started as a pilot project for the 2002 World Cup and through the years it has transformed into one of the most informative soccer shows for the Spanish-speaking audience across Latin America and the U.S.
With a group of renowned soccer experts — in front of and behind the cameras — known for their journalistic excellence, legendary careers on the soccer field, and for their voices on EA’s FIFA 13 video game, Fuera de Juego offers fans the latest news and information on European soccer with in-depth analysis and debate.
Front Row sat down with some colleagues who have been part of the show to learn how Fuera de Juego has evolved over the years.
We also went behind the scenes to the taping of the special celebration the show has prepared for tonight (ESPN Deportes, 9 p.m. ET).
The show will travel in time to recount the most memorable moments in the history of soccer, transporting the hosts and the set to that particular period in time. The fans will be amused to watch Fernando Palomo presenting soccer news from the 1950s; Mario Kempes being interviewed after becoming a world champion back in 1978; and Tato Noriega analyzing the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.
Fuera de Juego airs Monday through Friday on ESPN Latin America at 7 p.m. Mexico Time and ESPN Deportes in the U.S. at 9 p.m. ET.
