Millions of people enjoy a smorgasbord of turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, stuffing and dozens of other traditional food options on Thanksgiving every year. For the first time in a decade, they can add some Egg Bowl to the menu with the return of the Ole Miss and Mississippi State showdown to ESPN’s Thursday night college football lineup (7:30 ET).

ESPN previously televised the rivalry game – also known as the Battle for the Golden Egg and the Egg Bowl – as its annual Thanksgiving Day prime-time college football game from 1998 to 2003. Ole Miss won last year’s meeting 41-24 and leads the series 61-42-6. The 2013 matchup will mark the 110th meeting between the SEC programs, the sixth-longest uninterrupted series between two teams.

Above, Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze and Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen spoke with Front Row about the rivalry and playing in the traditional Thanksgiving window.
