ESPN college hoops commentators discuss #JimmyVWeek

Jimmy Valvano touched people’s lives both on-and-off the basketball court in his short but vibrant life. In the 20-plus years since his death, his legacy is carried on in so many ways. ESPN’s Jimmy V Week for Cancer Research begins today across all domestic ESPN platforms to drive awareness of, and donations to, The V Foundation for Cancer Research.

Jimmy V Week launches at 7 p.m. ET with a simulcast of Valvano’s 1993 13-minute ESPYS speech simultaneously across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic, ESPNU, ESPNEWS, ESPN3, ESPN Deportes and the Longhorn Network, as well as on the ABC SuperSign in Times Square.

Jimmy V Week continues with Saturday’s Jimmy V Women’s & Men’s Basketball Classics Presented by Corona as No. 3-ranked Connecticut plays No. 2 Notre Dame (ESPN, 3:15 p.m.). The Jimmy V Week finale is next Tuesday’s men’s doubleheader on ESPN showcasing No. 10 Villanova versus No. 24 Illinois (7 p.m.), followed by Indiana versus No. 5 Louisville (9 p.m.)
