Disney and ESPN Media Networks at INTX 2015

Disney and ESPN Media Networks welcomed attendees from across the industry to its executive suite (L-R: James Zasowski, Nicole Guanlao, Bruce Jackson and Lauren Morrissey) at the Internet and Television Expo (INTX) hosted by the NCTA. Programmers, distributors, technology companies and more gathered for the three-day event in Chicago on May 5-7, 2015.

This week, Disney and ESPN Media Networks participated in the annual Internet and Television Expo (INTX) – formerly known as the Cable Show – hosted by the NCTA in Chicago. Throughout the three-day event, quality content, innovative products, industry-leading services and executives from across the company were featured in exhibits, presentations, talk sessions and honorary awards. Front Row captured some of the highlights of its presence at the show.

The new ESPN.com and ESPN app as well as the WATCH suite of authenticated products were on display throughout the show as part of INTX Intersections. Attendees were able to immerse themselves with the sites and apps that exemplify promising technology and pivotal ideas in navigation and TV Everywhere.

On Tuesday evening, May 5, ESPN’s longtime broadcaster, versatile host and highlights maven Chris Berman (center) was inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame at Chicago’s Navy Pier for his invaluable contributions to the industry. The award was presented to him by Larry Satkowiak, president and chief executive officer of the Cable Center (L) and Steve Scully, emcee and C-SPAN’s senior executive producer and political editor.

ESPN’s Senior Vice President, Communications, Chris LaPlaca served as honorary chair at the NAMIC Annual Awards Breakfast on Thursday morning, May 7. Luminary Award recipients honored at the event included Disney and ESPN Networks’ VP, Digital Video Distribution, James Rollins (fifth from left) and ESPN Deportes Vice President, Programming, Freddy Rolon (fourth from left).

The late Stuart Scott, SportsCenter anchor and dedicated family man, was honored posthumously by NAMIC with the Mickey Leland Humanitarian Achievement Award at the breakfast. A video tribute to Scott – narrated by Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts – included a message from ESPN President and Disney Media Networks co-chairman John Skipper and introduced Scott’s sister, Susan Scott (center), to accept the award on her brother’s behalf.
