SportsCenter on the Road from Saratoga Race Course

The five-week SportsCenter on the Road Summer Series concluded Saturday with a three-hour, two-location show. The 9 a.m.–noon program on ESPN originated from the Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., on the first Saturday of a 40-day meet generally regarded as the best stretch of thoroughbred racing in the country.

Friday after a tornado warning and rain, Jeannine Edwards told ESPN Radio’s 104.5 The Team (Albany, N.Y.) hosts Jeff Levack (left) and Armen Williams: “I started working on the back-stretch. Saratoga was one of my first jobs, as a hot-walker, the people that cool the horses off and walk them around. I had no idea what I was doing but I wanted to ride and train race horses so I did that for 10 years.”
