Team V participates in New York Marathon

For ESPN employees, the TCS New York City Marathon not only was a test of endurance but one of inspiration, passion and purpose. Ten employees ran for Team V — a collaboration with the New York City Road Runners, The V Foundation and ESPN — and have already raised over $20,000 for cancer research (fundraising efforts continue through the end of the year).

Mike Dunlap, Lead Application Developer: “No training can truly prepare you for the concentration of runners throughout the whole race, the odors in each of the neighborhoods, the screams of the spectators, the various styles of music performed, the overwhelming support of the volunteers and the metropolitan terrain that make-up the New York City Marathon.”

Rachel Klein, Production Coordinator: “Being given the opportunity to fundraise for The V Foundation has made the experience that much more special — Jim Valvano’s iconic ESPYS speech has long been a personal inspiration to me.”
