Pool experts visit ESPN in advance of billiards coverage

Hall of Famer Ewa Laurance and trick shot artist Andy Segal stopped by the ESPN campus for an interactive session with employees where they showed off their skills, gave out their tips and even challenged a few employees.

In anticipation of ESPN2’s original billiards programming flight (which kicks off Sunday with Women’s Billiards: Hall of Fame Challenge), ESPN employees were invited to meet billiards professionals Ewa Laurance and Andy Segal at a special event on the Bristol, Conn., campus. on November 30th. 2015 marks the 25th anniversary of ESPN’s relationship with Billiards International delivering world championship content from the biggest names in pool.

“The game of pool has such an amazing history with ESPN, especially women’s billiards,” Laurance (below) noted. “We were happy to be able to come and remind the staff at ESPN of, and educate them about, a sport that has over 30 million players, both professional and recreational.”

Added Segal: “A few of the ESPN employees are pretty good pool players. I set up a few advanced scenarios and discussed what to do in those situations.”
