WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the National Association of Black Journalists are holding a joint convention and career fair here through Sunday.

Friday, each group honored a member of ESPN’s family during separate Hall Of Fame induction ceremonies at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel.

Hugo Balta, ESPN senior director of multicultural content and a past NAHJ president, was inducted with three others into the group’s Hall Of Fame.

“I’m incredibly grateful and humbled by this honor,” Balta said. “I share the generous recognition by the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) with the many committed and selfless family, friends and colleagues who helped me accomplish goals I never could have on my own.”

Longtime SportsCenter anchor Stuart Scott, who lost his battle with cancer in January 2015, was posthumously inducted into the National Association of Black Journalists Hall Of Fame on Friday. His daughters Sydni and Taelor represented the family on the stage.
