Back to Full Strength, ESPN’s Tennis Team Flourishes At Wimbledon

As the Ladies and Gentlemen's Championships unfold this weekend on ESPN, enjoy glimpses of the more than 250-person strong team bringing fans coverage from London

LONDON – For the first time in three years – there was no Wimbledon in 2020 and Covid reduced the number of credentials a year ago – the ESPN Tennis Team in London is enjoying being back at full strength.

About 160 crew members from the U.S. are supplemented by a few dozen local hires to produce 150+ hours of linear coverage, the most since ESPN began exclusively presenting The Championships in 2012.

“We’re proud to be the stewards of this grand event, tennis in an English garden, with a deep roster of past champions and top coaches which helps us define the sport with their insights, opinions and personalities,” says ESPN’s long-time tennis production leader, Jamie Reynolds, Vice President, Production. “Back at full strength, our people can do what they do best, flex their creative muscles to distinguish our production and document the competition.”

The fortnight of daily marathon windows, including Breakfast at Wimbledon starting the day six times and ABC’s first-ever live Wimbledon broadcasts – supplemented by ESPN+ and ESPN3 with all other courts between them, plus specific productions for ESPN Deportes and where ESPN has rights in both Spanish-speaking and Portuguese-speaking Latin America and Canada, along with feeding ESPN’s news and information shows and platforms and hosting ABC’s Good Morning America – will culminate this weekend.

On Saturday, the Ladies’ Championship and the Gentlemen’s Doubles titles will be decided, with the Gentlemen’s Championship and Ladies’ Doubles titles to be held Sunday.
