ESPN’s ‘My Wish’ series celebrates 20th anniversary with five new unforgettable wishes

Since 2006, ESPN’s hit series “My Wish” has been bringing the magic of sports to some of the most resilient fans.

Back for its 20th anniversary on Sunday, July 19, this year’s “My Wish” season features five children from across the country as well as athletes like A’ja Wilson, Scottie Scheffler, Seth Rollins, Fernando Tatis Jr. and the University of Tennessee’s Football program — bringing the series to 93 wishes fulfilled.

All episodes will air on SportsCenter starting with the preliminary episode at 8 a.m. E.T. (with subsequent episodes airing at 7 a.m. the following days).

Khloe’s wish with the Las Vegas Aces: 18-year-old Khloe of Louisiana loves playing basketball with her family, but after undergoing a liver and kidney transplant to address a genetic disorder, she is unable to play the sport competitively. Her wish was to meet four-time WNBA MVP and three-time champion A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces, who gives Khloe a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a professional basketball player.

Caleb’s wish with Scottie Scheffler: After undergoing three open-heart surgeries as a child, Caleb took up golf when the physical exertion of team sports became too much to overcome. For his wish, the 12-year-old Virginia native gets some amazing surprises as he joins four-time major winner Scottie Scheffler on the course for some one-on-one with the world’s top-ranked golfer.

Ledger’s wish with Seth Rollins: Diagnosed with leukemia at age three, Ledger found inspiration in his favorite WWE superstar, Seth Rollins. When the Mississippi native meets the two-time World Heavyweight Champion, his “Ledger the Great” persona becomes an instant sensation and a stirring tribute to the inner strength of this courageous six-year-old.

Victoria’s wish with Fernando Tatis Jr. and the San Diego Padres: Born with a neurological condition and facing significant medical challenges and numerous operations throughout her life, including a kidney transplant, 12-year-old New Mexico resident and baseball fan Victoria doesn’t let any of that slow her down. Her wish includes a first-ever visit to an MLB stadium, San Diego’s Petco Park, where the Padres go all-out with an unforgettable day, which includes spending time with her favorite player, Fernando Tatis Jr.

Bailey’s wish with the University of Tennessee Football Program: When a lifelong medical ordeal threatened to keep 16-year-old Bailey on the sidelines, she found a new lease on life by getting a kidney transplant and through watching Vols football games with her grandfather. Bailey’s wish brings her inside the Tennessee football program, where players, coaches and fans shower her with appreciation in a magical game day experience.

This season marks the 20th anniversary of both “My Wish” and Sr. Managing Producer Denny Wolfe‘s involvement with the series
