Since arriving at the ESPN the Magazine office five years ago as an intern, I’ve interviewed over 500 athletes, coaches and workers affiliated with sports, traveled to over half of the 50 states and experienced many unexpected adventures, such as competing against an NFL wide receiver in a footrace (I lost) and exploring a linebacker's at-home collection of over 75 animals, including sharks, pythons and scorpions. I’m currently a contract writer and producer for ESPN.com and ESPN the Magazine, which covers a variety of assignments within all sports, from writing features, packages and 200-word stories to producing video segments. I particularly like to highlight those athletes who find a way to give back to their communities. After spending three years in the Magazine’s Big Apple offices, I relocated back to the South in 2009 and now reside in Charlottesville, Va., with my fiancée. I’m a born and bred Tar Heel from Chapel Hill, NC who attended Davidson College (best repped in the sports world by Stephen Curry). As a veteran of three marathons and numerous races, I’ll seek out a running trail in whatever city or town I’m visiting. I’ve also been a contestant on two national game shows—but more on that later.
