The Muppets take Bristol

Walt Disney Studios’ The Muppets hits the big screen Nov. 23.

To help spread the word, some of our furry friends including Kermit the Frog, Gonzo, Statler and Waldorf, Beaker, and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew made the trip from Hollywood to ESPN’s main campus here in Bristol, Conn.

When it comes to The Muppets you’ll be hard pressed to find anyone who does not crack a smile or reflect upon a fond memory with the mere mention of the word “Muppet.”

This was quickly revealed once word broke The Muppets would be here on-campus appearing on Mike & Mike, First Take, NFL Live, and SportsNation, among other platforms.

From their timeless humor to stories of friendship and adventure, the signature characters we have grown to know and love have spanned generations — bringing out the kid in each of us.

This trip was no exception as our new friends most certainly left a lasting impression during their visit, including Mike Greenberg’s bonding moment with Kermit on how “it’s not easy being Green.”

Kermit and Gonzo reflected on their on-campus experience:

“I love being here at ESPN. I don’t know much about pigskin, though. Well, except for the kind I’m dating.” — Kermit

“I had a great time here at ESPN. It’s been a blast. I hope people enjoy the movie as much as we enjoyed being here.” — Gonzo

Stay tuned for upcoming appearances on ESPN over the next week including:
