EDITOR’S NOTE: ESPN and ABC will televise a combined 18.5 hours of live X Games Minneapolis 2017 coverage beginning today at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN. Follow the action Thursday through Sunday and visit XGames.com for more information.

Hip-hop duo Atmosphere, rapper Sean “Slug” Daley and DJ/producer Anthony “Ant” Davis, will perform in their hometown Sunday at X Fest, the entertainment event during X Games Minneapolis weekend. The musical performances and local visual artists will be centered at Medtronic Plaza at U.S. Bank Stadium. Front Row caught up with Slug to talk about this year’s X Games, performing at home and local places to visit in the Twin Cities.

How does performing at X Games in your hometown differ from a stop on tour?
I appreciate being able to go home and eat dinner afterwards, and help put my kids to sleep. Sit on my deck and stare at the moon as it reflects upon my wife’s eyeballs. Plus it’s an honor to be recognized by X Games and ESPN as a voice in my community.

If you could be part of any X Games event, what would you choose?
I’m pretty good at couch surfing. I kinda doubt that’s an event though. Right?

Do you have a favorite athlete competing at this year’s X Games?
I’m hoping to catch [American skateboarder] Lizzie Armanto in action.

Do you have a favorite ESPN show?
I’m a huge fan of the 30 for 30 series.

What’s next after your X Games performance?
Gonna go to Portland for a week to hang out with my family, and then we will head to California to do a short tour.

Any favorite spots you’d recommend for fans to explore in Minneapolis while in town for X Games?
Familia skate park, Minnehaha Falls, The Fifth Element record store and you should probably find some time to purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka.
