Rob King on ESPN Digital’s big October

ESPN Digital Media reached 100 million U.S. users in October and led the sports category for all key metrics. Perhaps most significantly, ESPN Digital’s average minute audience (AMA) of over 211,000 was more than the Nos. 2, 3 and 4 digital properties combined (Yahoo Sports/NBC Sports: 116,000, NFL Internet Group: 51,000, CBS Sports, 35,000). In fact, ESPN Digital out delivered 68 nationally measured cable television networks and was ahead of every cable sports television network, except ESPN, FS1 and the NFL Network.

Also, ESPN was also the No. 1 digital sports property in the U.S. in total minutes with 9.4 billion and in number of unique fans with 99.6 million, its third-highest monthly total ever, behind only September 2016 (104.6 million) and November 2016 (101.8 million).

Front Row checked in with Senior Vice President, Original Content, News and Digital Media, Rob King for his take on the numbers.
