NSMA names ESPN NBA Insider Wojnarowski its “Sportswriter of the Year”
The National Sports Media Association (NSMA) today announced that ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski has been named the 2017 Sportswriter of the Year.
The NSMA, based in Salisbury, N.C., is an organization of more than 1,000 members that honors excellence in the industry. Wojnarowski is the first ESPNer to win the Sportswriter of the Year honor.
“Woj,” one of the most-respected NBA journalists in the industry, is celebrating the news by, well, working – what else? He’s appearing across ESPN platforms today.
Front Row asked ESPN NBA deputy editor Cristina Daglas for her reaction to this tremendous honor.
“My first thought was, ‘of course,'” she said. “I certainly wasn’t surprised. Woj is in incredible company winning this award, but he fits right in. He works hard, is never satisfied and is always pushing for the next story, big or small. It’s a well-deserved honor.”
The 59th Annual NSMA Awards Weekend is June 23-25 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
