Memory Lane: SVP & Russillo Are Together Again With Debut Of Monthly Podcast Tonight

To celebrate the launch, revisit their ESPN Radio adventures with vintage art from illustrator Kev Roché

Scott Van Pelt and Ryen Russillo co-hosted their popular SVP & Russillo Show together for six years before their ESPN Radio partnership ended in June 2015 so both could pursue solo projects.

The past four years they have made guest appearances on each other’s shows, but now the duo is officially back with the debut of their new monthly ESPN Audio podcast.

Episode 1 of the SVP & Russillo podcast is available tonight via the ESPN App, Apple Podcasts and other places podcasts are found.

In celebration of their return, above and below are Kev Roché’s illustrations of Van Pelt and Russillo from their original radio show.

Roché, an artist/illustrator based in Irmo, S.C., was a loyal listener in the early days of the show. He noticed pictures of Van Pelt on the desk so he decided to submit an illustration to see if it could be part of the set design.

He soon heard that the hosts loved the poster and wanted to use it on air. From there, he submitted cartoons regularly highlighting Van Pelt and Russillo, other ESPN personalities and the quirky exploits of the show.

“I had a blast with that show,” said Roché, who parlayed the Van Pelt and Russillo cartoons into an opportunity to work with ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball. “I would watch Van Pelt and Russillo every day while trying to figure out what to do with my life. They are the greatest group of people, and I am very fortunate they let me draw cartoons from their segments and stories.”
