Some Bliss From The Rose (Bowl Game): Saluting College Football 150 With ESPN Images’ Fabulous Photogs

Photographer Scott Clarke's words and pictures combine with Gene Wojciechowski's narration for this ode to "The Granddaddy Of Them All"

November 6th marks the 150th anniversary of the first college football game.

In support of ESPN’s yearlong College Football 150 initiative, Front Row will feature, over the next few weeks, ESPN Images’ photographers favorite college football pictures and the stories behind them.

Last week, the series began with photgrapher Phil Ellsworth’s recollections of the classic 2013 Iron Bowl game that ended with the “Kick Six.”

In the video above, the format takes a turn this week: Photographer Scott Clarke has recruited ESPN reporter Gene Wojciechowski to narrate Clarke’s tribute to his favorite college football assignment, covering the Rose Bowl Game every New Year’s Day in Pasadena, Calif.

Shelby L. Lacy and Melissa Rawlins produced the video.
