#TBT: ESPNFC’S Alejandro Moreno Revisits Scoring A Goal In MLS Cup

Moreno kickstarted the Columbus Crew's 3-1 romp over New York RedBulls for 2008 title; he'll be in Seattle for ABC, ESPN's MLS Cup 2019 coverage on Sunday

The last time Major League Soccer’s championship match was on ABC, Alejandro Moreno scored the first goal for his Columbus Crew team, en route to a 3-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls.

On Sunday, Moreno, now an ESPN soccer commentator, returns to ABC as a studio analyst for the network’s broadcast of Seattle Sounders FC versus Toronto FC for the 2019 MLS Cup (3 p.m. ET), live from a sold-out CenturyLink Field in Seattle.

In this Throwback Thursday video, Moreno, a regular pundit on the soccer news, highlights and analysis show ESPN FC, relives his opening goal during the 2008 MLS Cup on ABC.

ESPN FC production, Jon McLeod and Shelby Lacy produced the video above.

ESPNFC’s Sebastian Salazar and Alejandro Moreno will be part of ABC and ESPN’s extensive MLS Cup 2019 coverage from Seattle this week.
