ESPN VP & Exec Producer John Dahl Discusses ESPN Films/ACC Network Documentary – The Tournament: A History of ACC Men’s Basketball

ACC Network, the 24/7 national network dedicated to ACC sports, is in the midst of its largest original programming initiative to date (the network launched in August of 2019) – The Tournament: A History of ACC Men’s Basketball Presented by New York Life. The 10-part, 10-episode ESPN Films docuseries chronicles the story of ACC men’s basketball by exploring the transformative tournament that started in 1954. In an era when the NCAA Tournament awarded just one berth per conference, the ACC became the only league to determine its champion with a tournament that followed regular season play.

Vice President and Executive Producer for ESPN Original Content and Special Projects John Dahl explains how the documentary came together, his favorite parts of producing it and what he hopes fans take away from watching.

Episodes 5 and 6 debut tonight at 9 and 10 p.m. ET, episodes 7 and 8 are set for Monday, Feb. 28 and the final two episodes will air on Monday, March 7.

To take you back through the years of ACC Basketball, ACCN Marketing teamed up with ESPN Music and Spotify to create a playlist inspired by the documentary and the music of the eras.
