Enhancing the UFL Experience: ESPN’s On-Site Social Presence Takes Fans Closer to the Action

Last weekend, ESPN Social Designer, Kaylen Buschhorn, was on the ground capturing all the action for ESPN’s UFL opening weekend in San Antonio. Tasked with bringing fans into the heart of the action, something ESPN’s Social team does best, she didn’t know that her efforts would be recognized by co-owner of the UFL, Dany Garcia.
Garcia shared a photo with Kaylen on her social account, expressing gratitude for her contributions to the impactful coverage.
“It’s not every day you get a personal shoutout from a league owner,” said Buschhorn. “Conducting on-site interviews and collecting behind-the-scenes moments is something our team is accustomed to but to know that leaders in our industry are recognizing our work is empowering!”

During the kickoff weekend doubleheader on ESPN, the integral role of on-site social coverage became evident. Showcasing mic ’d-up moments with coaches and players, exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes moments all enrich the fan experience.
As the UFL season progresses, fans can anticipate more content and interactive experiences from ESPN’s social channels. “For week 2 and beyond, fans can expect a deeper dive into the action,” said Madison Campos, Senior Social Media Specialist. “From exclusive player interviews to behind-the-scenes access, we’re committed to keeping fans engaged and connected to every thrilling moment of the UFL season.”
