New tennis bracket experiences on ESPN.com, the ESPN App
The completely redesigned look includes deeper historical data, more intuitive navigation and a faster, more engaging user experience for all tennis majors going forward

What’s new: ESPN has introduced an upgraded, responsive tennis bracket experience, available on ESPN.com and, for the first time, in the ESPN App in time for the French Open. The completely redesigned tennis bracket includes deeper historical data, more intuitive navigation and a faster, more engaging user experience for all tennis majors going forward, including the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open.
A closer look: Continuing ESPN’s focus on personalization, fans will see their favorite tennis players highlighted across the bracket, ensuring those players are prominently displayed in every match they’ve played, including doubles. Other notable feature enhancements include improved navigation to view rounds, Watch buttons for matches to take fans straight into streaming for live events on ESPN networks, improved treatments for current score and serve, the ability to navigate all tournaments within the bracket, search-optimized URLs and metadata and historical data for men’s and women’s tournaments going as far back as 2007.
Why it matters: For the past few years, ESPN has been building a scalable foundation for its bracket screens on a unified codebase for all applicable sports. This multi-sport platform enables us to support not only the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament but also the NBA, WNBA, NHL, MLB, NFL, college football, and now tennis. Because of this work, ESPN can now bring a tennis bracket screen into the ESPN App for the first time, giving fans a seamless and consistent look and feel for tracking a player’s progression through a tournament, providing important information and context for these bracket-style tournaments.
