It is perhaps fitting that ESPNFrontRow.com launches on March 30, as it has been a notable day through the years at ESPN. Most recently – and most significantly – ESPN HD debuted on this day in 2003. High definition television was considered an iffy proposition…now it’s become mainstream, especially for sports fans. Five years later, ESPNEWS also launched its HD simulcast service. Going back further was the 1994 announcement of ESPN backing another “new technology” that proved to be, shall we say, fairly ubiquitous – ESPN’s foray onto the onramp of the information superhighway with ESPNET through Prodigy.
