ACC Basketball Media Day at ESPNU

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — What does it take to put on ACC Basketball Media Day?

Twenty-four players, 12 coaches, 9 ESPN personalities, 4 hours of coverage, the ACC Commissioner and one very organized ESPNU production coordinator named Anne Morgan.

Entering the first year of a 12-year rights agreement with the ACC, ESPNU kicked off 10-hours of College Basketball Media Days coverage over three days with this event on Wednesday, Oct. 19.

For the second straight year, the ESPNU Charlotte studios opened its doors to the ACC and ushered in another college basketball season.

The coaches arrived before the sun was up and were ushered through a maze of interviews that included phoners with Mike & Mike in the Morning, live look-ins from SportsCenter, an ACC Roundtable hosted by Jay Bilas, radio interviews, a sit-down with ESPN The Magazine and ESPN.com, plus on-camera X&O scenarios broken down by the coaches that craft them.

Players arrived after lunch and were put to the test with Teammate Trivia.

Questions included: Who has the better dance moves (fierce debate ensued)? What’s his biggest pet peeve (smelly feet was obvious)? Favorite food (the truth, well don’t tell my coach…)?

Check out the behind-the-scenes photos and video to see exactly what it takes to put on an ACC Basketball Car Wash, Charlotte style.
