For the long run, ESPN employees offer ‘Sage advice’ on 13.1-mile race

If you’re looking for Sage Steele, she can either be found in the SportsCenter studio or on treadmill, sometimes she sleeps, but mainly she trains.

On Feb. 26 her training will be put to the test in Orlando. The Disney Princess Half Marathon aims to empower the young ladies of the world, to show them that all is possible with hard work and determination. espnW chose Steele to represent ESPN because that is precisely what Sage embodies, the woman who does it all: family, career, friends and now running.

ESPN is full of active employees, some of whom have run their fair share of marathons. In the video above, fellow SportsCenter anchor John Buccigross, espnW associate manager (and Steele’s race day running partner) Joslyn Dalton, espnW’s Shandi Kano (a former distance runner at BYU) and several others offer some last-minute advice for her.

In the video below, Steele is pictured training at the Gatorade Sports Science Institute. She compared notes with Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt and got some more advice for the Disney Princess Half Marathon.
