An update on DC2’s construction — the future new home to SportsCenter

This month marks the one-year anniversary of the groundbreaking of the ESPN Digital Center 2 building.

The new facility will house 4 studios, 6 production control rooms, 26 edit rooms and more — including the eventual new home of SportsCenter.

Track the construction, quickly, thanks to the time-lapse videos above and below.

“Every day I look out my office window and can see measurable progress being made on the construction of DC2,” said Chuck Pagano, executive vice president and chief technology officer.

“As the frame is being finished, we continue to review plans to find the most innovative technology to help us deliver outstanding sports content to our fans, anytime, anywhere. Currently, we are finalizing the specifics of the layout and design of what will be a 193,000 square-foot building with approximately 62,000 square feet of studio space.

“Within that space, we continue to plan for a phased roll out of studios, control rooms and edit suites with the first studio being brought online in Summer 2014.”
