All aboard: College GameDay going to Florida

Lee Corso is no stranger to the Gator head – here, he does the “chomp” for Kirk Herbstreit when Florida visited Kentucky in 2007.

College GameDay Built by The Home Depot — returning to Gainesville, Fla., for the first time since 2009 — will originate from the site of next Saturday’s matchup of No. 3 South Carolina (6-1) at No. 4 Florida (6-0). College GameDay, in its 26th year, will be making its 11th all-time visit to “The Swamp” for a game involving Florida. The Gators are 6-4 with the GameDay crew on-campus, including three straight wins.

The Gators are coming off Saturday’s road win at Vanderbilt (31-17), and the Gamecocks lost to LSU in Baton Rouge (23-21).

College GameDay will air live at 9 a.m. ET on ESPNU and 10 a.m. on ESPN with host Chris Fowler, analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and David Pollack, and host/reporter Samantha Steele and Tom Rinaldi.

Lee Corso is 6-3 in his Gainesville-based picks (there was no pick during GameDay’s first visit in 1995). South Carolina has not been part of a GameDay from Gainesville, but this will be the Gamecocks second GameDay appearance of the year (it will be the third for the Gators, who were part of Tennessee’s GameDay in Knoxville earlier this season and Texas A&M’s as well).
