Intern Chronicles: Flashbacks on an ESPN summer
As ESPN’s 2017 summer internship program concludes this week, members of this year’s class share their experiences from the past 10 weeks with ESPN.
During the past two-and-a-half months, 85 interns from around the country made countless memories that will last a lifetime. Front Row asked them to submit their 2017 ESPN Summer Internship highlights and compiled them in the video above.
Here’s a sampling:
Nina Phan, Programming Intern, University of Florida
I got the awesome opportunity to be in Miami for the MLB All-Star Weekend in July. The MLB Programming Manager, Rick Mace, allowed me to shadow ESPN productions and I experienced how ESPN produced the Home Run Derby.
Jordan Frank, Event Marketing Intern, Clark Atlanta University
My responsibilities while in L.A. were to work several of the events surrounding the 2017 ESPYS in different capacities such as the BODY party, the post party, and the Humanitarian Awards Dinner. Highlights from the week would have to be attending The 25th ESPYS show and creating the official Snapchat filter because this gave me a way to use my creativity to contribute.
Brooklyn McDaniels, Sales and Marketing Intern, Ohio State University
I had the opportunity to spend a few hours with Cari Champion in Bristol. I shadowed a live episode of Coast to Coast. I was standing behind the camera for the entire hour, just feet away from Cari and Stephen A. Smith. They both took the time to take photos with me, answer questions, and Cari even follows me on Twitter now.
Nicole Caporaso produced the video.
