Rapid Round: Jimmy Dykes on his ESPN teammates

Jimmy Dykes, a 20-year ESPN veteran, rejoined the company after three years away coaching the women’s basketball team at his alma mater, the University of Arkansas. Upon his return, he immersed himself in all things SEC and is excited for the Southeastern Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament (March 7-11, SEC Network & ESPN).

“The SEC has never had more than six teams make the NCAA Tournament,” Dykes said. “To have seven or eight, and a ninth lurking, it’s an exciting time to watch hoops in this conference.”

Dykes calls his next game on Saturday with Beth Mowins (Mississippi State vs. Missouri, 2 p.m. ET, ESPN2) as part of Rivalry Week presented by Wendy’s.

In the video above, he dishes about his ESPN and SEC Network teammates courtside and on SEC Network’s SEC Now.
