Chessboxing. Never heard of it? Well, it is exactly what it sounds like. It’s three minutes of chess followed by three minutes of boxing for eleven rounds. Check it out when chessboxing makes its “ESPN8:The Ocho” debut at 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday Aug. 8 (8/8).

May The Force be with you when ESPN8: The Ocho returns Wednesday, Aug. 8 (8/8). At 2 p.m. ET, “Saber Legion 2018: The Awakening” will spotlight the world’s largest custom dueling organization, bringing high-level light saber combat to the masses. You are probably less familiar with Kabaddi than some of the other sports on The Ocho lineup. This fun video will probably not solve that but you can check out this seldom-seen sport for yourself on 8/8 at 1 p.m.

For the record: Kabaddi is a contact team sport that originated in India involving two teams and has a unique rule. The goal is for each team’s “raider” to tag as many of the opposing team’s players as possible and return to his/her home half all while taking just a single breath.

Mike Golic, Jr. and Jason Fitz prep for the day they get their own opportunity to compete at the World Championship of Ping Pong. The competition is in its eighth year and has elevated the sport on an international television stage. Tune-in at 7 a.m. ET on 8/8.

As part of the ESPN8 “The Ocho” event, the American Cornhole League Pro Invitational will air at 5 a.m. ET on Wednesday, Aug. 8 (8/8). The show will feature the best cornhole players from around the United States compete for over $70,000 in cash prizes.

On Wednesday, Aug. 8 (8/8), ESPN 8 “The Ocho” will air the Skyzone Ultimate Championship and the 2018 Dodgeball World Cup as part of the 24-hour takeover of ESPN2. The sport of dodgeball is the premise of the movie “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story” which originally birthed ESPN8 “The Ocho” in 2004 and inspired this annual one-day event.
